Apple sends invites for October 4 iPhone event!

There’ve been reports for a while now stating that the iPhone 5 event would be held some time in October, but now it’s official. Apple has just sent out a round of invitations for an October 4th media event scheduled to begin at 10:00 AM at the company’s Town Hall auditorium in Cupertino.
The focus of the event, as many have speculated, is clearly the iPhone. As you can see, the invitation features the Calendar, Clock, Maps and Phone applications above the tagline “Let’s talk iPhone.”
There’s still no word on exactly what Tim Cook has up his sleeve for the event, but it’s widely believed that we willfinally get a glimpse at some new hardware. Now, whether this is the iPhone 4S or the iPhone 5 is yet to be seen, but my bet is for the iPhone 5.
Some other things rumored to be touched upon during the keynote include iOS 5, iCloud, new iPods, and maybe even Facebook (either integrated into iOS or the Facebook for iPad app).
I’m certainly excited. I, like many of you, have been unable to resist the insane amount of hype surrounding the next-gen device and I can’t wait to see what Apple has been working on for the past year or so.
What do you want to come from this event? Are you dying for the iPhone 5, or would you be happy just getting iOS 5 for your current iDevice? Let me know your hopes, expectations and any other thoughts you have down in the comments below
